MADISON HISTORIC PRESERVATION MANUAL
The Madison Historic Preservation Manual (1990), written by Professor William Chapman, serves as a design guideline document for the Madison Historic Preservation Commission and the City of Madison. Four hundred copies later, the manual is out of print but remains available on-line and through reserve copies at public facilities. A full digital copy is also available on disk by contacting City Hall or you may download by chapter (see below).
PLEASE NOTE: The manual is lengthy - 215 pages - and full of illustrative graphics. For easier downloads, the manual is divided into chapters (see abbreviated outline below). Even so, be warned that the documents remain large.
