  With the advent of the new millenium, the Madison HPC began a small annual program to increase awareness of the town's historic resources.  Each series, with the exception of the 2004 & 2005 historic churches series, incorporates four ornaments:  a downtown building, a public or quasi-public property, and two residential structures of different architectural style and plan.  The honored properties are all excellent preservation projects ~ either as examples of long-standing stewardship, period restorations for local house museums, sensitive renovations by dedicated property owners, or creative adaptive use projects respecting property integrity.  A framed commemorative copy is presented to each property owner as both a thanks and an accolade.
