For the newly reestablished Authority, the project was quite ambitious. Initial discussion began in February of 1997 followed by lots of planning, a few bumps in the road, and eventually house construction in August of 2000. Between that December and April of the following year, all seven of the historically-inspired residences acquired new owners - retirees, singles/single parents, and newlyweds. As in-town redevelopment, the project illustrates the desirability of downtown proximity, an economical approach to infill in historic districts, and a model for doubting developers. Uniquely, the project adapts the idea of downtown living to small town scale.
Favorite Compliment: "Y'all did a great job restoring those old houses."
