Fire Department

Madison Fire Department has 14 volunteers and one full-time firefighter, that works Monday - Friday, 8 - 5 and also serves as the City Fire Marshal. Our department offers fire suppression, light rescue (such as person trapped in elevator), carbon monoxide and multi-gas detection, landing zones for medical helicopters, mutual aid to the county fire department, protection and assistance to the county rescue squad and other fire related functions. We provide fire safety education to the schools and daycares and have recently started a Fire Fun Day.

Any questions about the fire department may be directed to the Fire Marshal at gporter@madisonga.com or calling City Hall.

Fire Fun Day!

Fire Fun Day is held in October to end Fire Prevention Week. We have a fire safety house, clowns, Fire Pup and offer tours of the fire trucks. We cook hotdogs and give them to the kids and their parents that attend. This day is used to give out more fire safety information and for everyone to meet the firefighters. Last year this was done in cooperation with the county fire department and we look forward to doing it again this year. Everyone had a great time and lots of kids and parents alike came out to join us.
